Here is a link to one of the stories involving the drama and dance students of Hertford Regional College (HRC).

Fame Magazine Link

Here is the link to FAME magazine which I spoke about in my previous post. If you go to the COLLEGE tab you will be able to see a substantial amount of news about the college that I work for... mainly all of the student drama and dance production that have taken place in the last year, accompanied by photos.

All of the productions shown are productions that I have either done LX, SFX or filmed. Either way I have had some participation.

I hope that this is of some interest. Enjoy! :D

Eventful Friday!

So today was an eventful day at work.

When I first went in, I expected just the usual, sorting students out with the correct equipment and assasting them with their film projects... This was until at approximately 9:00am the marketing department cotact me and say that Nina Wadia (Zainab Masood from Eastenders) was coming in to talk to the drama students. They then said that they want me to film the press conference that would be part of FAME magazine (a performing arts magazine which is student based in hertfordshire... I will post a link to their website later).

I asked them what time I would need to do this and they told me 9:15 am... this is when the pressure was on! I had literally 15 minutes to grab as much equipment as I could, set up a 3 point lighting plan in a studio that was nowhere near the television studio (which of course would be the ideal location as everything would be to hand!)

Luckily I managed to get everything set up in time and the conference went well.

This is the kind of working under pressure that keeps my line of work interesting! Sometimes the most rewarding tasks can be the most unexpected and of course stressful. :D

On Location Filming at the Olympic Stadium with students 05/01/2011

2a: Reflective Journal

When I first read this task I imagined that I would not have very much to write as I felt that not much occurs in my day to day life. I decided to break down my days beginning with the simple task of waking up.

Throughout my working day I discovered that although my specialism may be Media, I delve quite deeply into tasks that I thought would be out of my comfort zone. This has given me the ability to realise how much I actually do above and beyond my specialism, that either coincide with it or assist.

It has also given me insight on how I want to develop my skills.

I have now taken to scribbling major parts of my day roughly, before compiling them into my final journal.

I was surprised at how much I could learn about myself just by writing a journal.

The video quality is really bad when you upload videos to the blog. Does anybody know what youtube site I can upload my BAPP video to?
STARTING OUT ON BAPP

I have finally uploaded a completed version of my "Starting out on BAPP" video. There are still some things I want to do to it, however I could spend hours making changes and never get it uploaded.

I have a draft version that I will upload later in the week, which will show the video in its rawest form.

I have gone for a Documentary format and hope it fits in with the criteria.

Enjoy.
